WASHINGTON, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- More than 35 cars crashed Monday morning in the southeastern U.S. state of Georgia due to icy road, leaving 15 people injured.
Fifteen people were taken to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, according to the Catoosa County Sheriff's Office. Fourteen others were taken by bus to meet families.
Catoosa County Sheriff Gary Sisk said weather is believed to be the cause of the accident.
There were approximately 100 gallons of diesel fuel spilled at the scene of the crash, according to an ABC News report. Georgia Emergency Management and the Georgia Department of Transportation were working to clean up the crash.
The interstate is extremely icy in the area following last week's winter storm, said the report.
