KUWAIT CITY, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Kuwait and the U.S. are prepared to boost international efforts to curtail funding resources of the Islamic State (IS), the Kuwait News Agency said on Sunday.
The kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on Sunday met with Brett McGurk, the U.S. special envoy for the global coalition against the IS. They discussed the progress in combating the IS and ways of boosting international efforts to stem its funding resources, said KUNA.
During the meeting Brett McGurk hailed the distinguished efforts made by Kuwait and its contributions to the coalition in combating the IS.
They also discussed current preparations for upcoming ministerial meeting of the U.S.-led International Coalition against the IS, due in Kuwait on Feb. 13, KUNA said.
