Xu Cun locks the door of her old house in Shicheng Village of Huangyangchuan Township in Gulang, northwest China's Gansu Province, Feb. 6, 2018. Xu Cun, with a disabled husband ill in bed and mother-in-law over 70, is the backbone of her family. Before this year's Spring Festival, Xu and her family members were busy with home moving. With the help of local government's poverty relief project, Xu spent less than 40,000 yuan (about 6,314 U.S. dollars) on building, decorating and furnishing her new apartment of 100 square meters in a relocation community. The community has 96 buildings and supporting school and hospital in nearby area. Since 2012, a total of 53,000 villagers have been relocated to their new apartments in Gulang. (Xinhua/Fan Peishen)
