TOKYO, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks advanced Friday morning as President Donald Trump's positive remarks on U.S.-China trade lifted the market mood.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 266.96 points, or 1.23 percent, from Thursday to 21,954.61.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 10.11 points, or 0.62 percent, at 1,642.16.
Information and communication, machinery, and glass and ceramic product-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break.
