WASHINGTON, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- Two toddlers died Tuesday morning in a fire that blazed through a mobile home in the southern state of Alabama, according to local police.
Police responded to a fire in Mulga, Alabama shortly after midnight to find a home fully engulfed in flames, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said in a press release.
"One adult tried to save his children but was unable to reach them due to the intensity of the fire. Two children ages one and two died in the fire," the press release said.
The cause of the fire is being investigated, police said.
Mulga is a small community on the outskirts of Birmingham, Alabama's most populous city.
