YANGON, March 30 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar's trade with foreign countries through sea route reached over 11.05 billion U.S. dollars as of March 15 in the current fiscal year 2018-2019 starting in October last year, according to Myanmar's Commerce Ministry Saturday.
During this period, Myanmar's maritime export hit over 4.2 billion U.S. dollars while its import reached 6.85 billion U.S. dollars.
The figure decreased by about 100 million U.S. dollars compared to the same period of the last FY 2017-2018 which showed over 11.15 billion U.S. dollars.
During the period, the country's total foreign trade registered over 15.51 billion U.S. dollars with 4.46 billion U.S. dollars' border trade, according to the ministry's figures.
The country mainly exports agricultural products, animal products, fisheries, minerals and forest products while imports capital goods, intermediate goods, consumer goods and products using Cutting, Making and Packing (CMP) system.
