JAKARTA, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's Bintan in Riau province is scheduled to stage an international triathlon event from June 7 to 9, Indonesia Tourism Minister Arief Yahya said here on Tuesday.
"Bintan Triathlon this year would be different from the previous years. Foreign participants can explore Eid al-Fitr festivity, such an experience that they seldom get in their respective countries, particularly for those from the United States and European countries," the minister said.
Travel business in Bintan are advised to take the momentum by providing festivity-themed travel packages for families and participants attending the upcoming triathlon so as to vibrate tourism in Indonesia's western region ultimate destination, he added.
The 2019 Bintan Triathlon would contend swimming, cycling and running competitions in 5 categories, comprised of Olympic Distance, Sprint Distance, Youth Distance, Kids Distance and Fun Race Challenge.
