BEIJING, June 1 (Xinhua) -- Nine works stood out from over 12,000 drawings by children from around the country in the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Drawings featuring rich imagination and lively lines and colors were submitted by children aged between 5 and 17 from nearly 30 provinces, regions and municipalities as part of a campaign to promote socialist core values ahead of the International Children's Day.

The selected drawings are currently on display on www.wenming.cn, a website sponsored by China's publicity authority.
