BEIRUT, June 19 (Xinhua) -- Lebanon's Parliamentary Friendship Committee and the Saudi Shura Council emphasized on Wednesday the need to cooperate to maintain peace and stability in Arab countries, the National News Agency reported.
"It is important to work on maintaining the internal unity of Arab countries while preventing any wars and divisions," a statement issued after the meeting of the two delegations said.
According to the statement, the two delegations agreed to cooperate to fight against terrorism.
"Saudi Arabia and Lebanon also vowed to increase cooperation between the two countries on all levels," it added.
A Saudi Shura Council delegation headed by Saleh Bin Manih Al Khalyawi arrived in Lebanon on Tuesday to hold discussions with Lebanese officials on ways to boost ties between the two countries.
