WUHAN, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- China lost to DPR Korea 2-1 in the women's soccer final of the Military World Games here on Saturday.
"Congratulation to DPR Korean team. The match between China and DPR Korea represented the highest level of Asian women's soccer," said the Chinese head coach Zhao Zhengchun.
DPR Korea broke the deadlock in the 51st minute when Kim Yun-mi converted an easy goal after China's goalkeeper Peng Shimeng had the ball slipped from her hands.
The host team found the equalizer seven minutes later with a long-range effort from captain Zhang Rui. However, Kim scored her second and the winner in the 85th minute.
"We had our preparation to defend Kim, but she still had the chances, especially the first one as our goalkeeper made an error," Zhao said, adding that he is satisfied with the team's performance.
"It's the first time for the Chinese women's soccer team to compete in the Military World Games. And we beat the defending champion Brazil in the semifinal, it's not bad in general," he added.
